Weather has cooled enough for fall plantings. This is my first fall sowing as last year i was almost a newbie with seeds and had no confidence that i will be able to grow a plant from a seed. This year things are quite different though. Here are some pics from what i call the grand fall planting, it does not include bulbs though as we will have to wait till November 1st for their planting
Swan river daisy, linum and california poppy seedlings
Heliotropium seeds which i got from chilterns UK
Nigella sativa seedlings. I bought these seeds from a grocery shop.
cinnamon powder which i use as fungicide as i am too afraid of damping off.
Coco peat being refined in a sieve for covering the seeds

How exactly do you use the cinnamon? I need to know more! WHat amount? I am highly interested! Good post about growing seedlings!

Hi Khabbab~~
Looks like you're off to a great start. I hadn't heard of cinnamon to stave off damping off. I've used chamomile tea with success but will have to investigate the merits of cinnamon. Good luck with your emerging babies!
Hello,
Well, you look like an expert so far. I love Linum and California Poppies. Please be sure to post updates as your seedlings grow.
Cinnamon? Interesting. I will have to try that.
Your Fall planting of seeds are coming right along. Isn't it fun. I am with the others , the cinnamon is a new one. I am anxious to see it at work and will have to check that tip out.
Great work with your seedlings. Cinnamon powder and Cocoa peat-- great ideas. Look forward to seeing them as they grow.
seed starting is soooo exciting! I've heard of cinnamon but keep forgetting to try it! THanks for the reminder!
You are busy! Good luck!
@Rosey - i just sprinkle refined cinnamon powder on surface of soil/mix just before scattering my seed. i do it once only and with small amount. I know chamomile tea works great but here it is not available easily as compared to cinnamon powder.
